2 x 12" Extension Cabinet for Your Studio Classic
This 2 x 12″ extension cabinet was tailor-made for your Studio Classic amplifier. Loaded with dual 12″ Celestion G12 V-Type speakers, this cab is teeming with classic British tone. Beyond that, its slanted design ensures top-notch projection. This extension cabinet is the perfect complement to the incendiary sound of your Studio Classic.
Authentic Tone
The Celestion V-Type speakers are specifically voiced to provide a warm, balanced tone with an expressive low end and chiming highs, capturing the authentic overdriven Marshall sound reminiscent of the JCM800 series.
Design and Portability
The vertical, slanted design is not only visually matched to the Studio Classic heads (like the SC20H) but also ensures excellent sound projection on stage. Reviewers note its relatively compact and manageable weight for a 2x12, making it a good choice for gigging musicians who need portability.
Build Quality
The cabinet is made from plywood and covered in durable tolex. Some user reviews mention sturdy construction, though a few expressed disappointment with the plastic used for the corners and handles, expecting metal at the price point.
Versatility
While designed for the Studio Classic range, users found it pairs well with a variety of other amp heads and can handle different music styles, from blues to hard rock. It provides a tight, punchy sound due to its closed-back construction.Â
