Roland V-600UHD 4K

The versatile V-600UHD 4K HDR Multi-Format Video Switcher from Roland integrates Full HD and 4K inputs for simultaneous output, enabling you to transition to a full 4K workflow as your workload and budget demands. Nuanced lighting at IMAG events and subtle tones are preserved in all their detail using high dynamic range (HDR) technology, and 60 Hz frame rate support provides smoother movements than a 30 Hz rate. BT.2020 color gamut support and 10-bit 4:4:4 color processing both maintain accurate color reproduction and reduce color banding.

Each of the V-600UHD’s four HDMI 2.0 and two 12G-SDI inputs supports and automatically scales HD video resolutions up to DCI 4K, as well as PC resolutions from UXGA to DCI 4K. Downscaling on the one 12G/3G-SDI and three HDMI 2.0 outputs enables you to view your content simultaneously on HD as well as 4K displays, and a configurable multiview output provides a view of all your sources on a single HD display. For LED displays, the V-600UHD will output “dot-by-dot” scaling to your exact pixel dimensions without the need for an external scaler.

LED display technology has become a versatile creative tool for event designers, whether serving as the background for a stage or a huge backdrop at a music festival. The challenge is that when using IMAG cameras with a bright LED background and an SDR switcher, it’s difficult to light a presenter or performer when standing in front of the LED – they just appear as a shadowy outline. But now you can easily work with low light stages and bright backgrounds; just use an HDR camera with the V-600UHD and the subject appears properly lit.
