The PYXIS Monitor EVF Kit from Blackmagic Design is a versatile, high-brightness monitor designed specifically for the Blackmagic PYXIS camera. Performing as much more than just an external display, it functions as a powerful camera extension with a touchscreen interface, allowing users to control all camera features. With multiple mounting points, the monitor can be easily attached to the camera as a large viewfinder or mounted on a rig for improved focusing and framing. Featuring a 5″ LCD touchscreen, the PYXIS Monitor is ideal for use as a viewfinder for more accurate focusing and framing. This EVF kit comes with a clip-on sunshade, fixed and swivel mounts, a dovetail shoe with mounting screws, an EVF bracket rod mount, an EVF rotating bracket with a 19mm carbon fiber rod, two short 15mm carbon fiber rods, and a USB-C viewfinder cable that connects to your camera.

Constructed from durable machined metal, the Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor is built for professional applications, complementing the design of both the Blackmagic PYXIS and Blackmagic URSA Cine cameras. The versatile monitor can be employed as an assist station, allowing your crew to easily monitor shots from any position on the set, even when bright sunlight surrounds your area, as the monitor’s 5″ LCD touchscreen features 1500 cd/m² brightness that ensures clear visibility and with the removable sunshade offering added protection and convenience.  A bright tally light is visible from a distance during recording, and the monitor includes three customizable buttons for quick access to features like zebra, focus assist, and false color, designed for easy tactile navigation.

A single USB-C cable that transmits video, power, and camera control connects the monitor to your camera while locking screws at both ends ensure a secure connection. The HDR touchscreen allows users to control all camera functions directly from the monitor, including access to Blackmagic PYXIS menus, settings, metadata, and digital slate information. Custom 3D LUTs can also be loaded for advanced cinematic workflows. Designed for flexible mounting, the Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor supports industry-standard 1/4″-20 mounting and works seamlessly with Blackmagic PYXIS cameras outfitted with accessories like rails and cages. The single USB connection allows for off-camera mounting on other accessories, such as cranes or gimbals, facilitating full monitoring and camera control even when the camera is not within reach.
