The ATEM Mini Pro from Blackmagic Design is an advanced four-input live production switcher, building on the success of its predecessor, the ATEM Mini. Designed for live streaming and broadcast applications, it offers versatile multi-camera switching for a range of inputs, including gaming consoles, corporate streams, and HD cameras, delivering up to 1080p HD video.
Key upgrades in the ATEM Mini Pro include a built-in hardware encoder for direct live streaming without the need for additional software. It features real-time streaming status information, live stream data rates, simultaneous recording to USB drives, and a timecode generator, along with stream caching and multiview program preview support. The Pro version also integrates fully with Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K models, providing tally light control and automatic timecode synchronization.
On the rear panel, four HDMI inputs allow for up to 1080p video sources, while an HDMI output supports monitoring via a projector or multiview display. Additionally, the unit’s USB Type-C output enables HD video recording directly to a computer, and an RJ45 Ethernet port supports direct streaming, remote control, and system updates.
The control surface features familiar backlit buttons for selecting camera inputs, controlling transitions, and operating the Digital Video Effects (DVE) for powerful transitions like push, spin, and squeeze. New quick access buttons for recording and streaming make it easy to start and stop streams or hot-swap drives with the Blackmagic MultiDock.
For professional video productions, the ATEM Mini Pro boasts upstream and downstream keyers, an advanced chroma keyer for green screen effects, and the ability to load media such as stills in formats like PNG, TGA, BMP, JPEG, and TIFF. Its integrated Fairlight audio mixer offers fine-tuned control over camera and external audio inputs, featuring six-band parametric EQ, compression, gating, and more.
Overall, the ATEM Mini Pro is a powerful, user-friendly solution for live productions, combining intuitive hardware controls with professional-grade streaming and recording capabilities.
